Donate here – join us in bringing hope to the next child waiting
We are pleased to announce that this year ITFA will support and donate to Mary’s Meals. Started in 2002 feeding 200 children school meals in Malawi, the charity currently feeds almost 2.5 million children in 17 countries worldwide.
Together we can make a difference!
A simple solution to world hunger
Mary’s Meals serves nutritious school meals to children living in some of the world’s poorest countries. The promise of a good meal attracts these children into the classroom, giving them the energy to learn and hope for a better future.
We are already feeding more than 2.4 million children every school day – and together, we can reach the next hungry child waiting for Mary’s Meals.
Impact and sustainability
At Mary’s Meals, we believe in the power of a meal. Our 20 years of experience have shown us that a daily school meal brings positive immediate and long-term improvements to a child’s life.
We are helping break the cycle of poverty by ensuring the children gain an education, setting them up for a brighter future with better employment prospects.
Our impact reporting shows:
- Fewer children drop out of school or have to repeat grades
- 25% increase in enrolment
- Reduced absenteeism
- Improved performance in class
- Communities recognise the value of children’s education
Together, we can change the lives of thousands of children around the world through our simple yet effective approach to school feeding.
Mary’s Meals and the UN Sustainable Development Goals
Our work directly contributes to:
Goal 1: No poverty
Our school meals provide children with a strong foundation, enabling many more children to concentrate on their studies and grow up to be adults that can lift themselves and their communities out of poverty.
Goal 2: Zero hunger
Mary’s Meals reduces hunger for children, giving them energy at school. For many of the children we support, Mary’s meals provides their only meal of the day.
Goal 4: Quality education
Schools with Mary’s Meals school feeding programmes see increased enrolment and improved attendance.
